Norastouches.blogspot.com

This other blog (see link below) was created to display my decorative items for sale. However as time passes by, the time to paint for sale just eluded me

No special reason as to why I still have this blog... maybe it's just to remind me..... that's where and how I started to be where I am now :)

All items shown are hand-painted personally by yours truly... but now I focus on commissioned jobs. So, I do take orders... but the queue is long... sorry :( .... but if you are willing to wait in the queue... I'm more than obliged to paint for you..... It would be an honour!!!!

I'm poofed!!!

I spent the whole day today doing paperwork for an incoming workshop to be held next month at UTM, Skudai, Johore. It has been a looooonnnggggg time since I last did any form of paperwork from a-z... oh boy!!! am I poofed???!!!! My brain cells are forced to work at full gear, full-steam ahead since after dawn till now... with short intervals in between... hahahaha.... not easy I tell you... not when the brain has been at rest a wee bit too long!!!

Since I was glued to the monitor... I also managed to get a few other proposals out for beginner workshops on decorative painting and decoupage... for full and half day courses. Kudos to me... *pat*pat*. Now, all I need is the lesson notes for the project. Everything is in my mind now... words all muddled up with notes lying around everywhere...hehehe.... reminds me of the days when I was writing my thesis to get my degree way back in 1982....

Anyway... dear friends... if ever you are interested in having a workshop with me... please let me tell you now ya... I'm available... all you have to do is to just ask ;)

I'm taking a breather now... going to my Facebook first and then back to the drawing table to paint hydrangeas and geraniums on a pair of footstools... bz bz bz... muah muah MUAH

p/s: Laman Impiana will be having beginner workshops series 5 and 6 on 25/7 and 15/8 respectively.... check it out in Laman( issue 19)... Aniza, Zaitun and I will be conducting the class (as usual)... muahahahahahaha.... see y'all

Your artwork is breathtaking and i guess, a reflection of your 'dreamy' personality but then again i can be so wrong...guess..soulmates understand these things better than most...

I stumbled upon this hidden valley of drawings by chance and occasionally when i pass by this meadow of roses, thistles, cuddly bears and contemplative horses etc... i am beguiled by the exquisite touch that embroider your poignant pieces, strokes from the heart i suppose... not mechanical dabs of superficiality but ethereal flights of fancy that resonate a certain charm, mystique, nostalgia... vignettes from the heart always do....

thanks for filling my quiet days with your lovely pieces.......they are but light beneath the veil of silence..

Blimey...I'm speechless. U've described me pretty well, I'm intrigued by your powers of observation and deduction....to a certain extent. YUP!... they are strokes from the heart.... thank you... please feel free to drop by this meadow again....

So I perch like a nightingale in the boughs of your meadow and gaze upon your posse of cuddly teddies, ponies, graceful white swans gliding on glassy ponds, weeping willows drooping over still waters, thickets of pink, blue, yellow and red roses, clumps of daisies and daffodils, verdant fields of green hiding shy cowslips, peonies, petunias, lilac and pansies bordered by …… gushing waterfalls….placid lakes. Yet, I peer and search in vain for a white rose, the radiant moon casting her light like droplets of shimmering tears onto the unruffled visage of a quiet mere. Neither do I espy a veil of rain showering a nightingale, a thrush or a magpie warbling a joyful ditty or a mournful dirge…. Maybe you will paint all that one day or will never will or something else for the heart is never a stranger to its own imagination…………

The warmth and quietude of your landscapes are but poignant reflections of a gentle yet steely soul chiselled by the travails of life but never eroded by the pain of existence. You are but the eternal poet, the brush and easel, your reservoir of words, the sceneries reflect the landscapes of your heart, the exquisite touch mirror the richness of your imagination, the ethereal being floating itself on the canvas of pots, bowls, fine chine, ceramic, wood and what have you…

And when I scroll down to the non-artistic voicing of your inner self, I sense the echoes of the past congealing with the realities of the present to birth pearls of wisdom that traverse the wrinkles of Father Time, ironing away the rumples of life . As you draw so well, I am sure you write equally as well…Just a suggestion, why not some jottings about life, faith, love or whatever that catches your fancy….you will surely draw a bigger readership…..just being presumptuous…sorry…its your blog anyway…macam I mengada2 pulak kan?

Never mind that, do paint on and can I hatch a deal that I will be allowed to flit through this meadow like an unrequited wraith seeking repose in the arms of your imagination, scattering my scrabbled thoughts here every now and then or never at all….and please don’t take it upon yourself to respond to my unsolicited gibberish yet thanks anyway for sharing your talents with all and sundry. I truly appreciate your efforts and here’s wishing you more happy days of creativity….sincere apologies for being long-winded……Que sera sera….

Dear Wind...you are very poetic with a vast reservoir of words.... that is your gift. You 'paint' your life with words as I 'paint' mine with colours. My vocab is limited... thanks to my scientific background, I was trained to be precise and concise...and to be observant...

I paint what I see, what I sense, what I feel...with logic ruling the day, and heart having the final say hahaha...

Never mind your long-windedness... I enjoy your expressive thoughts... it's a wonderful feeling...

Have a great day ya...yes... que sera sera
