This other blog (see link below) was created to display my decorative items for sale. However as time passes by, the time to paint for sale just eluded me

No special reason as to why I still have this blog... maybe it's just to remind me..... that's where and how I started to be where I am now :)

All items shown are hand-painted personally by yours truly... but now I focus on commissioned jobs. So, I do take orders... but the queue is long... sorry :( .... but if you are willing to wait in the queue... I'm more than obliged to paint for you..... It would be an honour!!!!

On small items ...

Just a small item, took just an hour to finish 2 days ago...but it took ages... AGES!!! ... for me to start on it. Bought the empty plaque ...errmmmm maybe 6 or 7 months ago hehehe. Had leaves and a nest with eggs painted on it... not doing flowers here.

I have decided that I will only paint roses when I need to complete PRONTO haha ... like for instance, I'm having guests in the evening and I have maybe 2 hours left to spare ...haha... did just that for my hand-soap dispenser .....

Right... that's it for today... seems to have lost my flair for words... writer's block!!!

Aniza Khir Omar and Zaitun Ramli...2 beautiful talented highly creative ladies are in cahoots with me. Yup!Yup!Yup!...to all you people out there grab our book Amaze Yourself with Stunning Projects available since June 2008.

Everytime I go to her home studio I go really wide-eyed, cross-eyed, green-eyed and every other possible adjective related to admiration and ENVY!!!... just can't have enough of her really really really beautiful works of art.

Zaitun's page, I believe, is still under construction. I'll link you to her as soon as it's ready. For those of you living in KL you'd probably have seen Zaitun's works perhaps in a friend's house, or at gift shops in the Amcorp Mall in PJ and the SACC Mall in Shah Alam. She paints on furniture and she specialises in roses...beautiful dreamy roses. Wait for her page and the pictures will speak for themselves.

Life is too short to wake up with regrets. So love the people who treat you right...forget the ones who don't. Believe evrything happens for a reason. If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised that it would be worth it ~ anon

Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what their journey is all about. Make peace with your past so it won't spoil your present. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.

Just a thought to share

Grandma told me... "Never do unto others what you do not want them do unto you".... I cannot remember when I finally understood her but I've held on to that quote ever since then. It has become one of my philosophies in life.

As my kids grow, trying to instil values in their life was no easy feat. I find that empathy is something sadly lacking. I don't even think they know what empathy really means!! I guess I can't blame them when they are living in a world where the empahasis is I, me, mine. As much as I try... but what they see and experience is very different from what I preach.

What they have learned and observed is... either you are the predator or be preyed upon in order to survive in this individualistic world!! What has become of the human race?

Grandma also said that...

Grandma was a grand old lady. She never spoke much... a woman of not many words but when she spoke I listened and I remembered. Her words were always full of wisdom... in fact I don't ever remember hearing nenek grumbling or cussing or whining or whatever. She doesn't even nag!!

Nenek always told me never to give up on anything....even when the going gets tough! She reminded me that there's always a silver lining behind every cloud and that the sky is always clearer after the storm.

Everytime I'm down and out I always remind myself that things happen for a reason. With nenek's words ringing in my ears, I know I've to think positive. I need to be strong for it's God's way of testing me, His humble servant. InsyaAllah, if I persevere things will go my way. Nenek promised me that... and I know it's true.

Many of us fail to see the other side of the coin especially when we are angry or disappointed. Many succumb to temptations which eventually destroy us in one way or the other. These values I try to instil in my kids. I pray to God that I'd given them enough strength to go on in life come what may.

I've been through a lot of trials and tribulations in my life...some of which, had I not persevered, would have broken me down. My faith in Allah, the presence of my friends and the memories of my dear departed grandma has pulled me through that period of major storm and stress!!!

Nenek, I love you. I'm blessed to be your grandchild....

Life is like a bed of Roses....

Life is not a bed of roses as the saying goes... but it sure is like a bed of roses to me. This is something I believe and it has become my philosophy in life...

A bed of roses can be as beautiful or as ugly as you want it to be. Give it tender loving care and it will reward you with gorgeous sweet smelling blooms but neglect it and it will grow wild and unruly. The same applies to life...

A sprig of rose can send wonderful vibes to you but it can also hurt you. Be careful of the thorns! for the thorns are small but sharp and you can bleed if it pricks you...and the sting from the prick remains for a while longer... that's how life is. The smallest thing that we neglect to see can sometimes be the one that hurt you most...

The beauty of the roses alas! do not last long but not to fret... new ones will bud and bloom just as beautiful...but the memory of a beautiful bed of roses will last forever. That's life...good things come and go...but good thoughts will last forever.

Give it a thought my friend....with that, I leave you now with good thoughts in my mind...have a good life...
