Norastouches.blogspot.com

This other blog (see link below) was created to display my decorative items for sale. However as time passes by, the time to paint for sale just eluded me

No special reason as to why I still have this blog... maybe it's just to remind me..... that's where and how I started to be where I am now :)

All items shown are hand-painted personally by yours truly... but now I focus on commissioned jobs. So, I do take orders... but the queue is long... sorry :( .... but if you are willing to wait in the queue... I'm more than obliged to paint for you..... It would be an honour!!!!

What's new this week?

Was painting a trompe l'oeil design on a lazy susan ... somehow got stuck putting in the details ... so pushed that aside first until the juices flow again ... hopefully soon! Hence ... just so I don't waste time ...completed projects for Dee and kak Nomi ... something simple that does not require me to crack my brain (or whatever that's left of it at this age hahahaha!!!) ...

Dee's diary... painted my infamous roses on the leather jacket ... that was a quick job ... hehehe I like! I like! That's what I would normally do... whenever I get stumped by a major project ... I'd just stop and divert to something simpler ...

Then next painted on Kak Nomi's cutlery box. She had the crackled effect done ages (and I mean AGES ago ... like 3 years ago haha). It was a project she started but abandoned due to err.... hmmm I forgot what!!! Anyway ... I completed it for her ...again with my infamous roses!!! Another quick job hehehe ... I like! I like!

Also for Kak Nomi ... painted a bouquet of lilacs and daisies on a portable reading table. Another easy project ... I like! hehe ... that's it for the week... now for more serious painting of still life and trompe l'oeil ... back to the studio ....

That's all folks ...for now. Have a great day ya ... God Bless ...

The cupboard needs a makeover too....

Rozaini came to me with a real beat-down hutch that she got from some junk shop. I looked at it ... and went .... "OMG!!! What am I getting myself into???" ... oh well ... it was a challenge that I took with much apprehension ... aiseyhman hahaha

I sent it for repairs (I'm no carpenter... just a painter hehe) ... changed the back and certain parts of the doors ... gave it a new coat of paint ... and started doing my "stuff" hehe. It took me many days of staring at it, mulling the designs over in my head, "painting" with my mind's eyes before I could actually decide on what to do ... so here's the outcome after 2 weeks of HARD work!!!! ... ooh my aching neck ... and back!!!!

The final makeover .... ;) niceeeee hehehehe .....

Have a great day ya....
