There is a saying that the customer is always right :) It is something we service providers have to stand by all the time ... regardless the consequences ...
I discovered today that my paintings were not up to expectations ... I misunderstood the specifications and did it my way as I usually do unless specifically instructed. I happily announced in my last 2 posts that the lady was happy with my work ... when unfortunately she was not. I understand the feelings of dissatisfaction when what we want is not what we get ... so here I have to remind myself to make sure the customer gets what he/she wants.... but again... oh well... *sigh* ... there is another saying... one man's meat is another man's poison... you just can't please them all...

Sad to hear that. Paintings looked ummm...ethreal to me....sort of infused with dabs from the soul.
Anyway, cheer up, there a lots of real roses to smell in the garden of life and "one mistake does not a heart's winter make" (that's a play on one swallow...).
P/S : by the way are your birdhouses up for sale up north. i would love to swirl and twirl with the birds in warm cosy comfort as father chill puffs away with baby dew settled on the leaves and mother rain pelting the land.....From a shangrila of an island up north but its a wee bit cold, rainy and clammy this past week.But then I love to wing in the rain to feel the droplets running down my nape....Cant have it all, i suppose

Well, "the customer is always right", satu proverb yang dah sebati ngan masyarakat kita. Apa2 pun, kita tak dapat memenuhi kepuasan/kehendak semua orang. Kadang kala ia terjadi di mane terdpt perbezaan itu.
Its part of life. So cheer up!!! Dont be too sad just because of that.
Sad that folks dont set them birdhouses in gardens anymore to enjoy nature's ditties to life. :(

To maintain a birdhouse can sometimes be a chore that one may not want to be burdened with. The aesthetic value is but temporary... eventually to be chucked away once it loses its beauty :(
